1. First Contact Call 523-9500 (Oahu) or 877-523-9503 (toll-free) or visit one of the Center's offices to sign up for one of our Orientation Sessions.

2. Orientation Session Learn more about the Center and what it does so you can decide if our agency is right for you. Complete an Intake Form, submit your required documents, and pay your membership fee to proceed with services.

3. Counselor's Assessment A counselor will review your income, credit report, and assets to determine how close you are to being “Mortgage Ready.”

4. Initial Counseling Session Your first meeting with a counselor to review the assessment findings and begin developing an action plan to help you reach your goal.

5. Home Buyer's Education 9-hours of classes taught by a nationally accredited Homebuyer Education Instructor. Part I covers financial fitness (budgeting, saving, and understanding credit) and Part II discusses mortgages and the home buying process.

6. Subsequent Counseling Sessions Addresses individual obstacles to home ownership in a one-on-one setting. Counselor will also help you find assistance programs for which you may be eligible.

7. Mortgage Ready Obstacles to home ownership have been overcome and you know how much you can afford to pay a month for a mortgage. It's time to start looking for a buyer's agent.

8. Prequalification Strengthens your bargaining position when making offers.

9. House Hunting Work with your buyer's agent to find the right house and make an offer to purchase that home.

10. Mortgage Application Complete a mortgage application with the lender of your choice. Counselors are available to help you understand your options and the overall process.

11. Close of Escrow Documents are signed, funds are disbursed, and you are given the keys to your home. Congratulations!

12. Post-Purchase Services Educational offerings are offered to ensure your success as a home owner. Counseling is also available as needed.
