Homebuyer & Homeowner Fair 2011
The Homebuyer and Homeowner Fair was held on June 4, 2011 to connect participants with resources to make their homeownership dream become a reality. Hawaii HomeOwnership Center (HHOC) partnered with housing agencies at this event to create a “one-stop shop” of resources for those interested in purchasing their first home in celebration of NeighborWorks® Week. Help was also available for distressed homeowners in need of assistance to address their mortgage.
HHOC joined other NeighborWorks® organizations across the country to mobilize thousands of people in a week of change, education, and awareness. Workshops and vendor booths were part of the fair to provide information for consumers to leave more confident about their decision to buy a home. The event was possible with the support of the Honolulu Star Advertiser, Building Industry Association, Title Guaranty, Honolulu Board of REALTORS® and Cox Radio. Additional support was provided by Alu Like, the Mortgage Bankers Association, City and County of Honolulu, and the US Department of Housing and Urban Development.
