HOMEBUYER EDUCATION

To register for the Homebuyer Education classes you must be a member of the Hawaii HomeOwnership Center.
The Hawaii HomeOwnership Center is now offering nine (9) hours of home buyer education classes taught by a nationally accredited instructor in a webinar format.

COURSE CONTENT INCLUDES:

  • Part 1A – Managing Your Money – Preparing a budget and setting financial goals

  • Part 1B – Understanding Credit – Credit reporting, managing debt, the cost of credit

  • Part 2A – Getting a Mortgage Loan – Steps to get a loan, how to select a lender, understanding lending ratios and other lending terms

  • Part 2B – Shopping for a Home / Purchase Contract – How to select a real estate agent, understanding the purchase contact, types of home ownership, making an offer and understanding the escrow process

  • Part 2C – Insurance – Types of insurance and what is covered by each

    1AB – Offered as one webinar (Part 1A and Part 1B together) or offered as two separate webinars Part 1A and Part 1B

    2ABC – All three modules offered at one webinar
